Living with no regrets!.

The saddest summary of life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have.” ~ Unknown

Every time I embark to go on a trip a bit of planning takes place but I don’t let it take over the excitement of not knowing what the trip will be like for the sake of keeping the unknown intact and an exciting experience from going south.

Take my friend Nolan for example,. he is the worst traveler ever,. he stress, he sweats, he bite his nails if he doesn’t know all the details and by that I mean everything there is to know about the destination including what kind of toilet paper they use. Don’t be like Nolan, I like the guy, we hang out, have beers, watch some football but other than that I wouldn’t travel with him.

I can’t imagine getting to the end of my life or getting older, realizing I have regrets. It is one of the most difficult feelings ever. Can you think about it for a moment?.. knowing that you had your shot in life and coulda, woulda, shoulda?. Its horrible and scary because there is no way you’re going to get your life to live it over again.

Living with no regrets

The road ahead Its an uphill battle full of surprises.

Its important not to miss opportunities whether they happen by chance or planned, whether you find yourself at the crossroads of right time-right place. Most of us try to achieve our dreams, for some it’s the journey but for many it’s only a painstakingly road to regrets because you didn’t go for it.

Every time you turn down your friends who want to try some new activity you are missing out on an opportunity., Every business idea no matter how crazy, you don’t examine, every attractive person you don’t approach is another opportunity that disappears in front of you.

If you don’t fail along the way then you don’t learn from your mistakes, remember,. its part of the journey to fail. The road ahead is full of surprises, if you’re only going to take the easy road and try to avoid failure then you’re setting yourself up for a life of regrets.

Failing, mistakes and rejections is the process life puts your mind through to exercise will and fear in life, the survival rate of regrets gets better with every decision you take of going for it. You get to choose, you decide, you’re the one who’s going to work at it, pushing, driving that desire, continue striving until you get what you want out of this life. Don’t let anything or anyone hold you back or tell you otherwise.

I have learned many lessons the hard way when it comes to traveling. It has made me a more seasoned traveler and now my vacations are a much smoother experience! I do not regret the mistakes that I made, as you said, I learned from them.

I used to be this way with my husband. He could NEVER plan any surprises because I would be a nervous wreck and ruin everything. I let him take the ropes finally and just let the surprise happen and it was the most enlightening experience of my life.

      Brenda, hi,
Although I don’t have the same problem as my friend Nolan I still don’t like surprises when it comes to holidays,. Happy to hear you have gotten over your fears. Good for you. Best, G.

I agree with you. Traveling needs to be planned to some degree, but the most memories are going to be made when you do something in your life that you didn’t KNOW you were going to do.
